Subject: (dsh-discuss) some phone system issues

(1) 5-minute slots.

Pratyush says our ISDN line can support a maximum of two simultaneous
calls. In the auto-dial schedule, when you put more people in, I
propose we divide times into 5-minute slots. And we still don't put
more than one person in a single slot. The schedule conflict-checker
will still work for the 5-minute slots and we still take advantage of
the conflict-checker. What it means is that if a call lasts longer
than 5 minutes, we might start to take advantage of the line's 2-call
capacity.

So far, we have been using 10-minute slots and the 10-minute slots are
already quite full. So it's cool we found we have double the capacity
for free :)

If we put the Chinhat schools in, we could potentially use the 2x capacity.

Remember: if you have to activate pnet1-clone after I disappear into
the mountains, don't run Firefox on pnet1-clone. (In fact, don't run
anything.) There's a severe resource conflict between Firefox and
Asterisk on pnet1-clone, which I don't understand. pnet1-clone is
slow and might have a capacity issue with 5-minute slots even without
the Firefox conflict.

(2) Call to offer auto-dials.

Zunaira Ansari from SEWA continues calling the phone system directly.
She wasn't there when we went to talk to SEWA and collected their info
so she's not being auto-dialed. You may want to call her up to
collect her info so we can enter her into the auto-dial schedule.
SEWA teachers are among the poorest and also the most responsible, so
they are the most deserving :)

In general, we should keep an eye on people who are not in our
auto-dial schedule but consistently dial in with their own money. We
should call them back and give them auto-dial options. (If they
prefer to spend their own money---and so far, absolutely no one has
preferred it when given a choice---let them keep whatever preference.)
It's real easy to tell which people are not in our auto-dial
schedule---people who haven't had their mugshots taken by us :)

(3) ISDN: Dialing long-distance.

Hey Pratyush, go find out about the situation of dialing long-distance
from our ISDN line. We know a couple things. Dialing the landline
prefix of 0522 from Asterisk doesn't work; putting a 0 in front of
mobile numbers also fails. It seems that our ISDN line can only do
local outgoing?

This may also affect auto-dialing Chinhat. We have a couple of mobile
numbers of Chinhat teachers. I don't know whether they could be
considered non-local. These are newly entered and so far, as far as I
can tell, dialing from Asterisk to them on a small number of occasions
didn't get through for whatever reason.

That of course was before we replaced the shitty broken NT box so we
don't know what happened.

Also go find out about pricing info of phone plans. We have a very
good deal now as far as I know but let's get the specifics.
